Abstract

Abstract. The problem of implementing empathic fashion design using mood boards is considered.
The purpose of the study is to prove the main infl uence of bust cultures and fi bers in the process of
creating empathetic clothing based on the analysis of the existing components of the product-service
system and empathic design.
Research methods include mood boards created in the Instagram environment. 

Results. The concept of mood boards in this study is made with empathy components. For a 95%
confi dence level, the desired sample size would be 384 responde nts. In fact, 500 Instagram profi les
of Ukrainian girls aged 20-30 were analyzed. In the selection process, appeals to empathetic fashion
brands in Ukraine were created and feedback from their subscribers was collected. It was proposed to
use a constraint model when creating a sketch, as well as to actively involve consumers in the design
process, providing them with a library of diff erent components: colours, textures, prints, design elements,
which he can combine and create his personal version. The most important results were obtained in
the study of empathic structures and materials. For these purposes, the mood boards were additionally
analysed for texture data that correspond to the concept of empathic design. The more empathetic
appeal of natural textile materials with a high specifi c grav ity of materials made from fi bres of bust
crops such as fl ax and hemp has been proven.
The scientifi c novelty of the obtained results consists in the fact that for the fi rst time the eff ectiveness
of using mood boards for the purposes of empathic clothing design has been proven, the main indicators
of empathic design, in particular the direction of empathic textures, have been determined.
The practical signifi cance lies in the fact that the described methods allow to create clothes taking
into account ematic requirements, which will signifi cantly increase its c ompetitiveness.
