THE USE OF SMART CONSUMPTION IDEAS IN THE PROCESS OF TRAINING SPECIALISTS IN THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY

Purpose. To justify the appropriateness of using the ideas of smart consumption during teaching of
professional disciplines and in the process of creating clothing models.
Methodology. The research is based on the introduction in the educational process of different clothing
recycling approaches; interviews with future specialists of the clothing industry, methods of analysis
and synthesis of obtained data, generalization and formulation of conclusions, experiment. Results. It was analysed the specifics of the training of specialists of the sewing industry. A survey was
conducted to clarify the awareness of students of professional and technical educational institutions
on the use of “recycling” technologies. For a more detailed study, an experiment was conducted
involving students of a vocational school. The differences in the formed knowledge, skills and abilities
of future specialists were analyzed depending on the awareness and knowledge of the ideas of smart
consumption and sustainable development in the fashion industry. It was determined the expediency
of introducing the ideas of smart consumption into the educational process in the training of clothing
industry specialists. Based on the results of the experiment, we came to the conclusion that there
is a need to improve the content of professional disciplines, taking into account the ideas of smart
consumption, in particular, the study of the features of the technological process of manufacturing
transformer clothing, multifunctional clothing, and recycling of the used things.
Scientific novelty. It was expanded and improved the use of the ideas of smart consumption in the
process of clothing industry specialists training at vocational schools.
Practical value. There were developed the designer’s models of women's, men's and children's clothing
with the use of "recycling" technologies. The results of the study can be used in the development of lesson
plans for professional disciplines, as well as in the domestic fashion industry to form an assortment of
light industry products in the direction "ECO-FASHION".
