The aim of the work is comparative analysis of various methods and techniques of clothing design and determination of the most effective ones for building individual sections of the drawing and ways to combine them with each other for an atypical figure. A comprehensive approach was used in the work: morphological analysis of drawings based on different design methods; experimental studies of the fit quality of layouts built using different methods and cutting systems, followed by synthesis of information based on the data obtained. The study presents a comparative analysis of different methods of designing women's shoulder garments for an atypical figure. The relationship between the quality of the product fit on the figure and the choice of approach to determining the shape of individual parts of the structure is revealed. The use of figure measurement methods and methods of their analysis during the drawing process is analyzed. The layouts of shoulder garments for a specific female figure, which are built according to different design methods, are presented and an evaluative caracterization of the advantages and disadvantages of using these methods in the creation of women's shoulder garments is given. A comprehensive comparison of known design methods and cutting systems for women's shoulder garments has been carried out for the first time. Differences in the names of dimensional features in different construction methods have been established. The ability to use the symbiosis of different approaches to clothing design to create a new comprehensive methodology that will fit an atypical figure is determined. It is to use the results of the study to modernize or develop new methods for constructing women's shoulder garments of close-fitting silhouette for an atypical figure.
