Abstract

The development of an algorithmic approach to the design of geometric digital textile prints, ensuring seamless pattern repetition through a periodic repeat model and wrap logic, and enabling quality control of the composition by managing image parameters in accordance with the technological constraints of digital printing. The implementation of the algorithmic approach to designing geometric digital textile prints employs a combination of methods that integrate parametric modeling, graphical formalization, and digital preparation, taking into account the technological limitations of digital printing. An algorithmic approach to the design of geometric digital prints in a CAD environment is proposed, based on the formalization of design as a system of parameters and rules that define the structure, rhythm, and repetition of the image. Unlike traditional manual creation of graphic layouts, algorithmic design involves print generation driven by controlled variables, among which the key parameters are repeat (rapport), scale of geometric elements, and color characteristics. This approach makes it possible to align the geometry of repetition with the fabric format, avoid shifts and visible seams, and adapt the print to garment pattern dimensions. Of particular importance is the control of repeat multiplicity relative to fabric width and the placement of construction lines, which reduces the risk of stripe effects and rhythm distortion after cutting and assembly. It is shown that geometric compositions in textile prints are highly sensitive to a number of parameters that simultaneously affect both aesthetic quality and technological reproducibility. These include line thickness, repeat step and scale, color contrast, repeat size, and repeat type. Their systematization allows the formalization of print quality evaluation criteria already at the stage of digital design. The practical implementation of the algorithmic approach is carried out in the vector graphic environment Adobe Illustrator, which provides high geometric accuracy and enables parametric control of print elements. The presented examples of geometric prints created in Adobe Illustrator demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithmic approach and the feasibility of seamless repetition based on wrap logic.
