Open Access and Copyright Policy
The scientific journal “Industry of Fashion. Fashion Industry” follows an Open Access policy and uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to support and publish scholarly editions of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
All materials comply with the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), and the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
All articles are published in open access immediately upon issue release and are freely available for reading, downloading, and use without restrictions. Full-text access to the journal’s content is provided on the official website in the “Archive” section.
Authors publishing in the journal retain copyright to their works.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the author:
- confirms the originality of the work and that it does not infringe third-party rights;
- grants the journal a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, and store the article;
- agrees to the article being made publicly available in open access.
The journal reserves the right to perform editorial processing, indexing, and archiving of materials.
This allows any users to use, copy, and distribute the materials, as well as adapt and create derivative works, provided that proper attribution to the author and the original source is given.
Authors have the right to:
- deposit the published version of their article in open repositories;
- use the material for their own scientific and educational purposes;
- share the article on personal or institutional platforms.
All subsequent re-publications must include a reference to the original publication in the journal.
Articles are stored on the official journal website and may also be included in electronic archives and repositories.
Authors are responsible for:
- the content of the publication;
- the accuracy of the data provided;
- compliance with copyright regulations of third parties.
When using copyrighted materials, authors must obtain the necessary permissions.
Privacy, Confidentiality, and Consent to Personal Data Processing Policy
Authors and Reviewers
Manuscripts must be reviewed with due respect for author confidentiality. By submitting a manuscript, authors entrust the editorial office with the results of their scientific work and creative efforts, which may affect their reputation and career. Authors have the right to confidentiality during the manuscript review process, which must be ensured by the editor. Reviewers are also entitled to confidentiality, which must be ensured by the editor. Confidentiality may be breached only in cases of misconduct or fraud; otherwise, it must be strictly maintained.
The editorial office must not disclose information about manuscripts (including receipt, content, review status, reviewer comments, or final decision) to anyone except authors and reviewers. This includes requests for materials for legal proceedings.
The editorial office must clearly inform reviewers that submitted manuscripts are privileged and the private property of the authors. Therefore, reviewers and editorial board members must respect authors’ rights, not publicly discuss their work, and not appropriate ideas prior to publication. Reviewers are not permitted to make copies of manuscripts for personal use or share them with third parties without the editor’s permission. Manuscripts must be returned or destroyed after review. The editorial office does not retain copies of rejected manuscripts.
Reviewer comments may not be published or disclosed without the permission of the reviewer, author, and editor.
Copyright and Licensing
Licensing terms: Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish original research articles containing results of experimental and theoretical studies that are not under consideration elsewhere. All materials are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits others to share and adapt the work with proper attribution to the author and the first publication in this journal.
If the article is accepted for publication in Industry of Fashion. Fashion Industry, the author must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement. The agreement is sent to the editorial office by post (original) or email (scanned copy).
By signing the agreement, the author confirms that the submitted material:
- does not infringe the copyrights of individuals or organizations;
- has not been previously published and is not under consideration in other journals.
The author grants the editorial board of “Industry of Fashion. Fashion Industry” the rights to:
- publish the article in Ukrainian (English) and distribute its printed version;
- translate the article into English (for Ukrainian-language articles) and distribute the printed translation;
- distribute electronic versions of the article and its translation through any electronic means (journal website, databases, repositories, etc.).
The author retains the right, without prior approval from the editorial board, to:
- use the article in full or in part for educational purposes;
- use the article for dissertation preparation;
- use the article for conference abstracts, reports, and presentations;
- upload electronic copies of the article (including the final version from the journal website) to:
- personal websites/blogs of all authors;
- institutional websites and repositories;
- non-commercial open-access platforms (e.g., arXiv.org).
In all cases, a bibliographic reference or hyperlink to the official journal website publication is mandatory.
