Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the study is to develop a systematic theoretical and methodological approach to the design of a protective kit for a military aviation pilot, taking into account the conditions of professional activity, the impact of hazardous and harmful factors, and ergonomic, functional, structural-technological, and aesthetic requirements.

Methodology. The research methodology is based on an integrated interdisciplinary approach, including the analysis of scientific sources in design, ergonomics, materials science, aviation medicine, textile engineering, and military aviation; the systematization of professional environment factors; and the generalization of requirements for the structure, functions, and compatibility of the components of the protective kit.

Main results. The study substantiates the need for a comprehensive, multi-component approach to designing a pilot’s protective kit. The key groups of factors influencing the design development are identified, including: the specifics of professional activity; confined cockpit space; typical postures and movements; the impact of hazardous and harmful factors; material requirements; compatibility of kit elements; and their integration with technical equipment. A theoretical and methodological approach and a system model for the design and development of a military aviation pilot’s protective kit are proposed.

Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty lies in the development of a systematic theoretical and methodological approach to the design of a military aviation pilot’s protective kit, based on the generalization of relationships within the system "external environment – military pilot – protective kit design".

Practical significance. The practical significance of the study consists in the possibility of applying the proposed approach to pre-design research, the formulation of product requirements, the development of the kit structure, the selection of materials, and the identification of rational compositional and structural solutions for creating modern protective equipment for military pilots.
