The paper seeks to explore the effects from globalization for business process management and provide implications for their further development. It is emphasized that global integration has penetrated into all areas of life and spurred radical changes in business, politics, economy, social domain, etc. Apart from that, modern advancements in information technology over the past few decades have had a great impact on the global landscape and the progress of globalization. The study observes that innovations in the IT sector have become a key driver of globalization, and at present, information technology is a vital element in global business strategies of companies all over the world. However, it is noted that each significant industrial and technological transformation translate into distinct changes in the characteristics of globalization. In particular, the paper discusses the role of the German government and the Siemens initiative in suggesting the Industry 4.0 term in 2011 to mark the transfer from analog and mechanical manufacturing to a totally digital technology. According to the research findings, among the main characteristics of the global information technology market are the following: intangible character of the final product and its value uncertainty; proactive approach to manufacturing of new products; permanent transformation of the market structure; higher dynamism against other markets; burst of innovation and progress in technological transformations; developing brand new patterns of relationships between market participants; high consumer demands to product quality; high competition intensity. A special focus is placed towards interpreting the concept of business digitalization security and its implications for building the overall information communication framework. The study also presents the specifics of business communication in the context of digitalization subject to different economic settings. The authors assert that new security strategies based on digital technologies contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of management decisions, facilitate the transition to virtual workplaces and increase individualization, encourage favourable environment for each employee self-realization and personal development, promoting HiPo management and involvement, improve the implementation of security analytics and performance management. The conclusions demonstrate that regardless of priorities in approaches and technologies, the company human potential, i. e. people capable of generating and managing innovations are of paramount importance. It is argued that intellectualization drives fundamental changes in the performance of all security units – from functional managers to strategic business partners. The study has also revealed a growing need for a scientific approach, providing evidence that research professionals in security management are getting more and more involved in the implementation of company projects, in particular, in the areas of cognitive economics and management.
