Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of management as a fundamental factor in the development of civilizations and organizations. It highlights the regularity of managerial revolutions occurring in accordance with the law of quantitative-to-qualitative change. Particular attention is given to the managerial revolution of standardization, which ensured global unification of best practices and created a “common language” for business and governments. The introduction of international standards in organizational management is shown to be a revolutionary phenomenon that transformed managerial thinking, strengthened trust and partnership, and accelerated organizational growth. The study outlines the key principles of quality management embedded in ISO 9001 and their interrelation with modern management models (EFQM, Six Sigma, Lean, Balanced Scorecard, Kaizen, TQM, PDCA), forming an integrated system of competitiveness. The second part of the research examines the problems of management in Ukraine, including the oligarchic economic model, corruption, an imperfect judicial system, and the lack of strategic state governance. It is argued that the exclusion of management experts from the standardization of management systems was one of the root causes of these challenges. The article concludes that the quality of management determines the competitiveness of a country and its resilience to modern challenges, including war and global crises. Directions for reforming Ukraine’s management systems are proposed, based on international standards, integration of science and practice, leadership culture, and employee engagement. The results confirm that management reform is a key condition for strengthening the state, improving citizens’ quality of life, and ensuring sustainable development in the context of globalization.
